Owl Barn is a wonderful, detached, stone-built barn conversion cottage, situated amongst a group of four, close to Lake Windermere in the sleepy hamlet of Heaning. The cottage offers three bedrooms, including a first floor king-size double with an en-suite shower room, two lower ground floor rooms (one double and one twin), and a lower ground floor family bathroom. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a sitting room with an electric fire, and a dining area. Outside, there is off road parking for two cars, a shared lawned garden, and a private area with furniture. Owl Barn is the perfect base for exploring the Lake District with friends and family, all year round.
Set within splendid scenery in the Lake District National Park, the twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are vibrant, bustling settlements, popular with both first-timers and visitors returning to the Lakes. They offer a range of amenities to suit all tastes, including a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Boat rides can be taken between Bowness and the popular village of Ambleside, while nearby are Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top Farm' and the Lakeside Aquarium. Good walking, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' high-wire adventure can be found in nearby Grizedale Forest. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children can enjoy the 'World of Beatrix Potter'; in Bowness, where the latest technology brings the author's famous characters to life.
