Originally built in 1725, this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse offers 7 en suite bedrooms in the centre of the ancient market town of Llandovery, the gateway to the Brecon Beacons.

Penygawse has now been carefully restored to its original splendour. Today, it offers the kind of traditional welcome that you might expect in such a beautiful, historic town.

As you would expect in a Georgian townhouse, the rooms are large and airy. Each room has been tastefully decorated in keeping with the history of the property. All of the en suite rooms are equipped with modern comforts and facilities which have been combined with the existing period features. Each room has a TV, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water and complimentary chocolates and biscuits.

Conveniently located on the A40, in the centre of the town, Penygawse is within walking distance of many restaurants and bars.

Free on-site parking is available for guests’ use.

A large and varied breakfast is included in the price and is served in the Victorian tearooms.

Pros: Breakfast was freshly cooked to order from a good menu choice. Bonus - best music play list I've heard in a while. Owners are welcoming and nothing seems like to much trouble for them - a genuine welcome. Nice powerful hot shower.

Pros: Really lovely staff who know how to make an incredible breakfast. Room was nice, had everything we needed. This really felt like a nice home away from home

Cons: Someway to fully close the drapes would be good for when the light turns out outside, which to be fair is not often.
