Post Office House Bed and Breakfast is a Grade II Listed 19th Century former post office and postmaster's residence and is within a ten minute drive from Bamburgh and Lindisfarne (Holy Island). It has three rooms: two doubles (one on ground floor) and a large twin, all with en-suite showers, free private parking, free WiFi and flat screen Smart televisions. All three rooms are elegantly furnished to a high standard with comfortable chairs, Nespresso coffee machines, full hospitality tray, USB socket points, bathrobes and toiletries. All have eco-fridges. Breakfast options include full Northumbrian breakfast and local smoked fish including Craster kippers. Vegetarian options are always available, together with fresh fruit, homemade muesli, yoghurt and toast. Breakfasts are made with locally produced ingredients and are freshly cooked-to-order, by pre-order the night before. Due to Covid, breakfasts are staggered to minimise guests in the dining room at the same time. Times for cooked breakfast are 8.00, 8.30, 9.00 and 9.30 am. Belford is a picturesque, historic former coaching town and is ideally located to explore the beautiful Northumberland coastline and countryside, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has a convenience store, chemist, newsagents, two pubs and a farm shop/bistro. Post Office House is situated on the former Great North Road which runs through the main part of the village. Berwick-upon-Tweed is approximately 14 miles where there is a main line station. Alnwick, with its famous castle and gardens are 20 minutes drive away. Seahouses, where boat trips sail to the Farne Islands, is a 15 minute drive or bus journey. The beautiful Cheviot Hills can be reached in half an hour by car. We are also on a main bus route (Arriva X15) for those on a walking holiday or those wishing to be environmentally friendly by leaving the car behind. Direct buses to Berwick-upon-Tweed, Alnwick, Morpeth, Newcastle (X15) and the X18 takes the scenic route through Bamburgh and along the Northumberland Coast via Beadnell, Embleton and Craster
