Hi I'm Juliet, I love hiking, biking, kayaking and just getting out there in the wilds - so the Highlands of Scotland is a perfect place to live.....but every now and then I get the travel bug . Located on the shores of Loch Ness, Drumnadrochit is an ideal base for exploring the Highlands. Nearby attractions include Urquhart Castle, The Loch Ness Exhibition centre and ancient Corrimony chambered cairns. Travelling a little further afield you can visit the Caledonian Canal, scenic Glen Affric, the Highland capital Inverness and also Fort George and Culloden Battle field. Day trips to the beautiful Isle of Skye and exploring the North Coast 500 route are recommended. The local area has some fantastic walking paths and is on the Great Glen Way and Affric Kintail long distance walking routes.
