We have a strong and experienced team who would normally be extremely busy with hosting weddings but due to the current situation, we've taken positive measures to ensure that our beautiful venue is used and appreciated over this time. Rockbeare Manor is an immaculate country house set in over 100 acres of Devon parkland, just a short distance from the vibrant city of Exeter. The Manor is Grade I listed, and in 2006 went through extensive refurbishment and has been operating since then as a successful wedding and events venue - earning an excellent reputation locally. Whilst we are temporarily unable to host weddings, we have taken positive steps to make full use of this stunning location - welcoming guests old and new to stay, and experience Rockbeare Manor in a whole new way. Rockbeare Manor has a timeless elegance about it. There are many period features to admire throughout the house - intricate cornicing, magnificent chandeliers, original trompe l'oeil art, and an antique Billiard table, and there is no mistaking the Regency symmetry of the façade. The countryside views are endless - you can see as far as Dartmoor on a clear day. There is an outside games room with table tennis, giant jenga and connect 4, and a beautiful walks around the estate which includes a walled garden and private lake. Rockbeare Manor is open on a B&B basis, offering dinner on some nights(Please check availability in advance)
There is lots to see and enjoy in Exeter, Devon and beyond. Locally there are a number of beaches within half an hour - Sidmouth, Exmouth, Branscombe, Beer - they are all idyllic - Devon coastline is hard to beat! Exeter is the nearest city where you will find shops, restaurants, medieval cathedral and of course Exeter Quay, a wonderful place to wander, and relax. Haldon Forest promises never-ending tree top views and peaceful strolls and Dartmoor National Park has exceptional scenery and wildlife to experience. For beaches a little further afield, Dartmouth and Salcombe are among our favourites and we are also blessed with some wonderful local restaurants of which we would be happy to give recommendations.
