Roscrea is a charming and lovingly restored Georgian town house close to the centre of Bodmin. It has a varied history having been the home to the school master John Stranger and his family and boarders; base for the WAFs during WWII and offices for the Weights and Measures to name a few. I moved here in 2004 ... the house had been sadly neglected. Now fully refurbished I have a beautiful character home which I am delighted to share with visitors from all around the globe. I welcome cyclists and walkers .... singles, couples and families.
I pride myself on my warm welcome and offering a 'Home from Home' at Roscrea. Time Out sees me walking (I've lots of maps to borrow and suggestions of great walks big or small). I am a 'community bunny' getting involved with local events and groups and volunteering to support our community.... there's so much more to Cornwall than the gorgeous coastline, rich heritage and stunning countryside.
I love living in Cornwall.... and Bodmin is the perfect place to be to explore this beautiful county and a wonderful place to live and work. Bodmin is a bustling little town full of history and Cornish heritage. On my doorstep is the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway with our fascinating Regimental Museum right across the road in the original DCLI Keep. Across town (20 minutes walk away) is the infamous Bodmin Jail and , of course, Bodmin has the start of the Camel Trail - a multi use path on the old railway bed that runs from Bodmin to Wadebridge and Padstow and also up to the edge of the Moor to Wenford Bridge.... did you know that the Camel Trail is the second most visited tourist attraction in Cornwall after the Eden Project? On the edge of town we have the Gold Award winning Lanhydrock House (NT) with it's family friendly cycle trails; Cardinham Woods (Forestry Commission) with walks and more advanced off road cycling and Pencarrow House. Slightly further afield is the Eden Project (20 mins drive), Bodmin Moor, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Tintagel Castle ... etc etc... and if the coast is for you go North or South ... Bodmin is right in the middle!

Pros: Everything was 10 out of 10.would I stay again? Of course I would. Sarah is delightful and made me feel relaxed and welcomed. I will be recommending this place to everyone. Thank you
Cons: There was nothing that I didn’t like. Yes my room was on the main road but it did not prevent me from having the best nights sleep. Parking is off site but Sarah was so helpful with the bags and organising extra parking time that it was not a problem at all.
