Pros: The location and the open fire. We appreciated that the fire was prepared for us to use.

Cons: Would have been helpful to have instructions on using the oven/hobs as we struggled for a while.

8 Large and comfortable cottage in lovely countryside.

Pros: Large and very comfortable cottage in lovely countryside. Host was very kind and allowed us to check in early, and had left various food items, which were very welcome, including bread, tea, coffee and a cake! She also left towels and a bowl for our 2 dogs.

Cons: It was a cold weekend and despite having the heating and fire on, it never felt really warm downstairs- maybe the sofa in lounge blocked the heat from radiator? Despite this, we enjoyed our stay very much and would happily return.

9.6 Nice comfortable cottage in a quiet village hosted by a great host.

Pros: The property is in a very small quiet town and the house is a nice little cottage in the heart of it. The host was nice and left a nice welcome pack (milk, butter, bread, jams) for us. The cherry on top was a nice chocolate cake which was such a pleasant surprise as it was my birthday on the night we stayed there. The host was easy to contact and communicated with and you could tell that she had put effort into ensuring the house was welcoming for us. The house was clean, smelt nice, the basics were ready and even the fireplace was ready to be lit. Note that the nearest supermarket (co-op) is in the next village about 5-7 mins drive away. There is a very nice and quiet local family pub across the road that serves food until 8pm.

Pros: Loved the location and the great garden. Lots of room for an extended family. Welcome was great with lovely welcome treats. Have booked to come back in August.

Cons: Would like to see a more secure catch or lock on front gate for very young children
