The Barns Hotel

The Kingfisher is situated in a beautiful riverside location, within 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens, yet just 9.9 miles from the M1 and 8.1 miles from A1.

The tranquil setting offers views of the great River Ouse and the local country park and wonderful grounds in which to stroll and relax.

For more strenuous activities, guests have access to the local Oasis Fitness and Leisure Club. Samuel Whitbread, founder of the brewing business, was born in the main house in 1720 and it remained within the Whitbread family until 1890s, becoming a hotel in 1987.

Each bedroom is traditionally and comfortably furnished with dark wood furniture and power showers in the spacious bathrooms. Guests can relax with a TV, and there is trouser press, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities in every room.

The WineGlass Restaurant at The Kingfisher offers hearty food prepared by its Michelin-starred chef. The wine list is handpicked by the Vineyard's Director of Wine with over 40 wines and champagnes. Afternoon tea can be enjoyed by the river with homemade scones and cakes.

The Kingfisher is just 10 minutes’ drive from the M1 motorway, and is located close to Woburn Abbey, which is set in a beautiful 3,000 acre deer park and houses an impressive private collection of art, furniture and porcelain. Woburn Safari Park is filled with exotic animals and features both a safari drive and foot safari.
