The apartment is in a building of particular local interest. The façade, paintwork & windows are listed. As my profession is related to Theatre & Drama - the 2 bedrooms are called Midsummer's Night Dream & Romeo & Juliet. The apartment contains various pictures & ornaments indicative of this theme & in terms of the apartment facilities, we have tried to provide all the comforts of home so that one can easily self cater for the duration of their stay.
I have a particular interest in music, history & theatre which is hinted at throughout the apartment.
Measham is perched on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border with many local attractions close by. if you want to explore there's plenty to do virtually on the doorstep. For the young at heart, Twycross Zoo is less than 15 minutes drive away, as is the exploration centre CONKERS which has a great adventure playground for the kids or grand-kids, a train travels around the perimeter, which my son loved when he was younger, there are lots of educational displays and if you like a physical challenge, the full assault course. In the summer, it stages many outdoor concerts, also in close proximity is Hicks lodge cycling centre built as a training centre for London Olympics there are over 20 miles of scenic tracks for all abilities. The surrounding area has an abundance of historical buildings and monuments including Elvaston Castle, Calke Abbey and Kedleston Hall to name a few and Bosworth battle-field is effectively on the doorstep. A great day out for families Drayton Manor Park is very close by. A little further afield is the glorious Peak District along with National Attractions Alton Towers & Warwick Castle and Stratford Upon Avon the birthplace of the afore-mentioned baird.
