Sandbank House

Dating back to 1898, the peaceful and family-run Sandbank House is situated in Hayle, on St Ives Bay. With free private parking, it is just 20 minutes’ walk from the South West Coast Path.

The contemporary rooms include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, along with tea and coffee making facilities and a refrigerator. The individually designed en suite shower rooms have complimentary toiletries.

In the mornings, the Sandbank House offers a choice between full English breakfast, porridge, or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. Dishes are served alongside a selection of cereals, toast, yoghurts, and fruit.

Hayle is home to a range of restaurants and pubs. Guests at the Sandbank House can enjoy 3 miles of golden beaches and sand dunes. The area offers many local attractions, including the National Trust Gardens and the Tate St Ives.

Sandbank House offers three luxury rooms that contain king size beds, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge to make your stay feel like a home away from home. Each room is characterful and offers a great view of the surrounding scenery and landscaped gardens. From Sandbank House, you can head out on foot or for a short drive to all the beautiful countryside and coast that Cornwall has to offer. Between the Hayle Estuary and Godrevy you can stroll across three miles of golden beaches, three stretches of Towans (sand dunes) and then head onto the cliff walk all the way to Portreath the next cove over. Specialist bird watching spots and nature reserves are dotted along this wonderful coastal hike. The nearest town of Hayle, just two miles away, has all you need to stock up on the essentials with several supermarkets located here. Alternatively, you can eat out with award winning fish and chips, a great bar/bistro, health food café, fabulous little Italian and a delightful ice cream parlour on the doorstep. The foodies among you will also love the many gourmet restaurants in the vicinity, run by chefs that include Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein and Jaimie Oliver. Just a couple of miles down the road there is a great local pub for a night of chatting over great ales, a good selection of wines and a traditional hearty pub menu. Across the bay is the famous town of St. Ives , which offers fabulous art galleries and plenty of evening entertainment. All of Cornwall’s attractions are no more than a forty minute drive away and include: the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Land’s End, Tate St Ives, Hall for Cornwall, Minack Theatre and St Michael’s Mount.

Nothing is too much trouble and we love to add those personal little touches to make your stay a memorable one. We also provide one night stays for people walking the South West Coastal path who are looking for a touch of indulgent luxury after a hard days trek. Except for a delicious home cooked breakfast, we don't offer food or entertainment on site which ensures that our B&B is peaceful day and night. Those looking for a bit of excitement will find St. Ives and Newquay a short drive away, both of which offer lively and vibrant nightlife for those who want it.
