Featuring a garden, Strachan House provides accommodation in Inverkeithing with free WiFi and garden views. Housed in a building dating from 1965, the bungalow is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as cycling and hiking.
The bungalow includes 1 bedroom, a bathroom, a seating area, and a kitchen. A flat-screen TV is available in the lounge and bedroom.
Edinburgh is 9.9 miles from Strachan House, while Perth is 25.5 miles from the property. Edinburgh Airport is 5.6 miles away.
Established in 2018, Scafferbaffs Alba is the operation company for Strachan House. I am the Directrice and my interests are languages, dancing, swimming, walking and sewing. I am looking forward to meeting guests from far and near and sharing local knowledge with them and making their stay in Fife memorable. I am struggling to learn Gaelic but speak some French, Turkish and Spanish.
The Edinburgh Airport bus goes from the end of the road every 20 minutes, day and night, 7 days a week. Inverkeithing train station is 5 minutes walk away and from there you have regular services to Edinburgh, London, the rest of Fife, Inverness, Aberdeen, Perth and Dundee. So you can see the transport here is second to none! Local shops and take-away food sellers are 1 minute away and local buses to Dunfermline and the rest of Fife are frequent. Strachan House, with it's quaint garden, is situated on a quiet street with plenty of parking and shops very close by. Inside is everything you will need for a relaxing stay. The house is fully carpeted with a comfortable lounge with smart TV and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, a shower room with large shower and large bath towels, a bedroom with plenty of storage, hanging space and a smart TV, lots of other storage space, central heating and WIFI . If you don't want to do a lot of cooking there are several cafes, take aways and an Indian restaurant very close by.
Inverkeithing is an ancient burgh so it is a town but it's size suggests a village! The people here are really friendly and helpful and Fife is quite beautiful. Inverkeithing is just north of the Firth of Forth and you can get great views of the three famous bridges in this area. A walk along the Fife Coastal path is recommended. I do it at 5 in the morning but maybe that is not for you! The Fife Coastal Path runs along Inverkeithing Bay and stretches 117 miles from the Firth of Forth to the Firth of Tay so plenty of walking and cycling there!. Whilst here, you must visit Dunfermline, the ancient capital of Scotland. Shakespeare's "Macbeth" relates to Dunfermline - check it out! This is the perfect place to stay for visiting Edinburgh. You can go by train or bus as both are equally convenient. If you want to go to a ceilidh (Scottish dance) there is always one on somewhere not too far away and if you would like to learn or speak a bit of Gaelic I will do my best to arrange it.
