One of the best things about the place has to be the location! From a visitor's point of view, I can't thing of a much better location in terms of distance from the town centre, beach etc. Everything is accessible by a relatively short walk on foot. The decor is fresh yet timeless, a little funky, with a blend of modern and organic features, producing a warm ambience. I wanted plush, opulent carpet for the sleeping and lounge areas and excellent beds and bedding, because a good night's sleep is at the top of my list. Reclaimed timber has been painstakingly rejuvenated and employed in the breakfast bar, contrasted with modern/retro light fixtures. Again, reclaimed timber has been employed in the shower room to contrast with modern fittings to produce a modern yet cosy/organic feel.

I grew up in, and lived in Bournemouth until 2014 when I moved to the French Alps through my love for the mountains. This is where my inspiration for wood cladding and features has been drawn from. There's something about it that exudes a warm, cosy ambience that cannot be replicated with anything else. It's always great to visit home, and I think it's actually quite difficult to top the buzz of Bournemouth on a beautiful sunny day! I particularly like the fact that the town is relatively compact and you can walk from beach, to lush gardens, to cinema complex to bustling shops restaurants and cafes within minutes of each other.

The apartment is situated just above what's know as "The Triangle". For me, the start to any day would be an essential trip to the intimate Espresso Kitchen where you can get a proper coffee and slice of cake or savoury bite. Of course there are the beaches and Bournemouth Pier with its various activities, including obstacle course, a climbing wall and a zip line. If you're a strong swimmer, a swim out to the buoy and back is another essential on the todo list. You have to touch it though, just because. The 2-mile long Bournemouth Gardens offer rock gardens, the Bournemouth Eye, an aviary and plant species from 3 continents. A favourite activity of mine is to buy a bag of peanuts from the newsagents on Westover Road and feed the squirrels in the gardens just below. A little patience and some luck is all that's usually required to get them to climb out of your hand. I've even had them climb up onto my knee before. There's the new Odeon cinema complex which offers various eateries and, if you opt for it, you can watch a film in the most comfortable reclining seats I've ever experienced.
