Great George Street is a beautiful historic street. Its close proximity to the law courts and the hospital mean that it's usually quite lively during the day, with doctors and barristers popping out for lunches and coffees. There are plenty of places to eat locally (see the guidebook for some of my favourites). Leeds is well served for public transport but you won't need it for visiting anywhere in the city centre. If you're arriving by train the railway station is a 15 minute walk or a 10 minute cab ride (thanks to Leeds' one way system it takes almost as long to drive as to walk!). An Uber would be less than a fiver though.
