This property, located in Alum Chine is a short walk from the stunning tropical gardens – somewhere perhaps to sit, relax and read some Thomas Hardy (an author synonymous with Dorset). You will find the golden beach stretches for seemingly unending miles to Hengistbury Head in one direction and Canford Cliffs in another – both stunning sights. In the summer months there is a lifeguard on duty all day and the children’s play area is perfect for letting off some steam. The word “chine” comes from the Saxon word ‘Cinan,’ meaning gap or ridge which carries the water out to sea - Alum Chine being a beautiful example of this. Slightly further afield is the area of Westbourne, known in Dorset for its boutique shops and high-quality restaurants. Sitting to the West of Alum Chine is the prosperous and naturally beautiful area of Sandbanks - famous for its high property values, it is a popular site for water sports, especially windsurfing and parasailing. Take the chain ferry from Sandbanks to Studland and head up to Old Harry Rocks where you’ll be greeted with amazing views of the coastline.
