Hi, my name is Jane Robertson and I brought Tanleys at the end of 2005 with plans one day to retire to the Highlands and in December 2020 that day arrived. I managed to get up just before the last lockdown happened and spent the time getting Tanleys ready for guests, which was challenging but fun. My family is Scottish, and I have loved visiting here since I was a child and even lived in the suburbs of Glasgow for 3 years back in the late 1990’s. However, the Highlands was always the dream, and I am looking forward to sharing my home and my passion for Scotland with you. The other resident here is my Westie, Angus, who I have had since he was a pup of 8 weeks. He is 10 years old now, although you would not know it from the way he behaves. If you are not a dog fan, do not worry he does not come into the guest accommodation, but if you want to say hallo, he is always there in his part of the garden with a warm Highlands welcome. I love walking, water colour painting and meeting new people.
The Cairngorms National Park is the largest National Park in the UK and offers endless things to do all year round, walks to suit all abilities, including the famous Speyside Way, wildlife watching and tours, winter and water sports, fishing in the Spey, many local attractions , stunning drives, even castles. Local Ness is only 45 miles away if you fancy a spot of monster hunting. There is so much to do why not stay a several days and explore, but however long you choose to stay, I look forward to welcoming you to my home and hope you find it as peaceful and relaxing as I do.
