With stunning views of Rothesay Bay and the Cowal Hills, The Ardyne Guest House is just 2 minutes’ drive from the town’s ferry terminal. This elegant Victorian villa provides en suite rooms, some with free WiFi.
Rooms have sea or garden views and all include a flat-screen TV, DVD player and tea and coffee facilities. All have an en suite shower with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, and some rooms also have a bath.
All rooms are located on the first or second floors accessed by long staircases which may not be suitable for all guests.
The Ardyne Guest House is a 10-15 minute stroll along the seafront to the town, with Rothesay Castle around 1 miles away. Rothesay Golf Club is a 3-minute drive, and you can reach Bute Golf Club in just under 20 minutes.
The Ardyne is a beautiful Victorian Villa and many original features have been retained to add to the authentic atmosphere. Our bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard and are equipped with free view TV and DVD players. Tea and Coffee making facilities and hairdryers. Our rooms vary in size but all are en-suite and a good number have stunning sea views. Our Bedrooms are furnished in a comfortable style. All beds are made with crisp white bed linen complemented with headboards and valances made from Bute Fabrics, which has been woven on the island. If you choose a sea view room you will have amazing views of Rothesay Bay and the Cowal hills beyond. The house is Wi-Fi enabled for those wishing to work whilst staying with us.
We spend our time, when not looking after guests, walking our dogs and exploring the island. We have great plans over the next few years for the Ardyne. It will be updated and improved further so that it becomes recognised as our property as it is after all our home as well as a business.
The Ardyne is only a few mins by car/taxi from the ferry terminal in Rothesay. In fact, if you are travelling on the Wemyss Bay – Rothesay ferry you’ll pass right by us as you approach the pier. On the island there are three golf courses, all within easy reach. Fishermen are catered for on nearby Loch Fad. Mount Stuart is a short drive or bus ride from The Ardyne and is a stunning building. The Shakespeare folios have recently been found and are on display until October.
