Situated in the countryside, north of Bristol, The Barn was converted in 2012 and updated in 2020. It retains many original features including flagstone floors and partial open stone walls. It is kept very warm by underfloor heating. The renovation has provided all amenities for modern living and has everything required for a 'home from home" stay. There are two bedrooms, a twin with an ensuite shower room, which is on the ground floor, and a double room which is upstairs, again with an ensuite shower room. We live in the main farmhouse and are always available if you have any issues during your stay. There is a private garden for guests use with a patio, which can be a real sun trap if you just want to laze away the day. Parking is for 2 vehicles.

The local village is Tytherington, a five minute drive or 20 minute off road walk. For walkers the Jubilee Way footpath, passes close by, along with many other paths. Tytherington has a village shop/Post office, two churches and a pub. Thornbury is the local town, with 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, pubs and a selection of restaurants and takeaways. We are ideally situated for visiting the Cotswolds, The Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacon and then the Cities of Bristol and Bath, or a little further afield, Cardiff. For younger guests, there are two farm parks nearby, Cattle Country at Berkeley and Old Down Country Park. Bristol has a hands on science museum at We the Curious, along with M Shed, the industrial museum. These are both in the Harbourside area, where you can also take boat trips and visit the famous SS Great Britain. That area also has interesting eateries, mainly at Cargo, which houses restaurants in old shipping containers. The National Trust Properties at Dyrham Park and Tyntsfield are within easy reach. The nearest sandy beach is at Weston-super-Mare. The Barn is 4 miles from the M4/M5 interchange and 5 miles from junction 14 of the M5
