We bought the property in 2020 from the previous owners who have done an amazing job in turning a derelict chapel into a stunning holiday own. We both love Thornham which is perfectly situated to explore all that the Norfolk Coast has to offer. We have spent so many great family weekends down here walking to the beach where you will be rewarded with peace and quiet whatever time of year you are visiting. Our kids have also enjoyed crabbing all along the coast and have visited the seals at nearby Morston or Blakeney on many occasions as well as playing on the arcades at Hunstanton. There is something for everyone in Norfolk and The Chapel is a perfect place from which to explore, we hope you fall in love with the area like we have.
Thornham is picturesque and vibrant old smuggling village set right on the North Norfolk Coast. Wide expanses of salt marsh separate the village from the sea and it is a paradise for walkers and birdwatchers. There are several great places to eat including Thornham Deli, selling all manner of local produce, cakes, specialities and great coffee (and breakfast and lunch too!), The Lifeboat Inn is an old smuggling haunt complete with heavy beams and roaring fires whilst The Orange Tree is a great gastro pub. Head to The Chequers and enjoy a variety of dishes and great pizzas and pasta. You will love Drove Orchards at the end of the village, which started as a farm shop and pick-your-own-fruit farm, but which has now evolved into so much more! Now boasting a fresh fish bar, Gurney's, Eric's fish and chips (such a cool place) and Eric's pizza restaurant which is housed in a yurt. This village offers so much! The beach, reached by a walk past the harbour and over the sea defence and across the salt marshes is stunning and you will be rewarded by peace and quiet whatever time of year you are visiting. The villages of Brancaster, Burnham Market and Wells are all close by
