Chris and Lesley retired from their careers in Education to take on the Denes, a popular, well-situated guesthouse. Chris is a former Biology teacher whose passion for the sea drew him to this coastal retreat. "I strive to deliver good-quality, home-cooked food and believe wholeheartedly in the use of locally-sourced products where ever possible. The Denes provides me with an opportunity to meet interesting people and to share experiences in a relaxing and calm environment." Lesley, is the creative brain behind the decor at The Denes. Her passion for crafts is present in the evolving decor. "I love the organic lines of artwork from the Art Nouveau Period. The Macintosh Rose is a particular favourite, which you will see in the wall hangings and cross-stitch on some of the walls. Fortuitously, my fascination with all things Art Nouveau ties in with the Edwardian Period when the Denes was constructed." Please be aware that The Denes is also home to Uggie, a cat who adopted us when she was abandoned by her owners. Uggie is not allowed in the guest bedrooms or in the dining room.
