We love welcoming guests from all over the world and making them feel at home. Gill loves baking bread, making jam and marmalade and picking the best local eggs, bacon, fruits and vegetables to make delicious breakfasts and suppers. John loves to talk and his talents are squeezing fresh orange juice and making good fresh coffee. We put fresh coffee and a wide selection of teas in the bedrooms and there’s always a plate of homemade biscuits or cake waiting when you come in. The Grey Hen is a warm, comfortable house filled with art, books and laughter!

Our profile picture shows we can dress up smart of we want to!!! But mostly we’re comfy and casual and get cleaned up after gardening and dog walking, ready to welcome you to our Highland home. We love welcoming guests from all over the world to our peaceful hideaway in the Highlands. Chatting at breakfast and learning about different countries and cultures is a joy, and we’re just as happy to leave you in peace and potter about in the kitchen. Walkers are very welcome and we can dry boots and coats overnight as well as talk about the many local Munros. John is very knowledgeable about plants, flowers, birds and wildlife.

The house sits in a sunny clearing in pretty woodland, quiet and undisturbed. The famous Corrimony Cairn is half a mile away and the RSPB reserve renowned for black grouse is just a mile from us. Loch Ness and the famous Urquhart Castle is fifteen minutes drive away. Walkers can hike 16 Munros within a half hour drive, as well as many Corbetts and lower mountain and loch walks.
