Featuring an indoor heated swimming pool, The Grove is a Georgian country house situated half a mile from Cromer town centre. The beach can be reached via a private gate into the woods and takes 10 minutes on foot. Free private parking is available on site. Free WiFi, an en-suite bathroom and a flat-screen TV are featured in each individually decorated room at The Grove. The Grove boasts 2 dining rooms, the oak-panelled Study and the original Georgian dining room. Both serve dishes made with locally sourced ingredients and guests can also enjoy a full English breakfast, home-cooked lunches and evening meals. Much of the produce is grown in the property’s own fruit and vegetable gardens. Cromer town centre offers a traditional pier with a theatre and a variety of small local independent shops. A selection of places to eat can be found in town, many of which offer the famous Cromer crab on their menus.
The Grove has been in our family since 1936, and we have been welcoming guests through our doors, since then. It is an historic building built as a country retreat and really has everythihng. Our restaurant offers the best in local produce, using Norfolk's best fare including fruit and vegetables from our own gardens. The swimming pool is a great for those days which are not so sunny. We also have a private entrance into Warren Woods, where you can walk to Cromer's cliffs and beaches in five minutes.
The Gravelings have owned The Grove since 1936. Robert and Hilda took on a huge risk at the time. John and Ann continued the tradition from 1978 to 2010 and it has now passed to the third generation. Richard is general manager, and Chris does the business administration. The glamping business is owned by Ruth Graveling.
Cromer was a sleepy fishing villae until becoming popular with rich families in Georgian times. It has one the best piers in the country, which hosts classic end of pier shows, beautiful cliffs and beaches to walk along and explore, and a large variety of restaurants, and pubs. It is 40 mins drive away from Norwich, which is great for shopping, 30 minutes away from the Norfolk Broads, and zero minutes from the beautiful North Norfolk coast.
