The Hideaway is a beautifully refurbished private family home in rural Devon, offering licensed accommodation seasonally, and rated at Number 6 in the Sunday Times Top 50 Best Value British Hotels. With Ensuite guest rooms, it offers comfort and service, operated by our family. Awarded 2 Taste of the West Gold Awards in 2017, Trencherman's Guide listing and multiple commendations in food publications nationally this is a hidden gem. Bespoke menus for guests are served in the family’s formal dining room as well as an ample breakfast selection daily. There is a private bar and an array of books, board games and local activities to enjoy. We create a home away from home atmosphere with open fires, chesterfield sofa's and good company.

As a solicitor and overcommitted individual I escaped "legal" London after a cancer diagnosis and continuous fight to survive along with my four children to settle in the beautiful Devon countryside, enjoying family time and healthy living. Seasonally, we open our home to others to enjoy the benefits of life on 'Devon Time' along with fantastic food given our passion for scrummy meals!

We are by Exmoor National Park, with award winning Night Skies full of stars and magic with picturesque hamlets strewn about the landscape. We offer exclusive use for shoot patties, families or business groups. From London Paddington to Tiverton Parkway you can be at our home in under 2 1/2 hours. Locally you can ride, walk, fish, shoot in season, or simply pitch a spot in the landscape for more artistic pursuits. Perhaps a visit to the award-winning sculpture parks or exploring the vintage markets for antiques and trinkets is your thing? If you are travelling with family children can spend hours playing in the variety of local attractions, both organic and man-made, from paddling in the rivers, windsurfing, boating, picnicking and beach days to wild water adventure parks or investigating Exmoor Zoo. With many National Trust properties, a within a short distance, there is plenty to see.
