Welcome to The Old Garage at our 150 year old Welsh Stone cottage. Our home is set within the beautiful village of Trefriw, which is on the outskirts of Snowdonia National Park and sit proudly in the heart of the Conwy Valley. The cottage itself is approximately 150 years old and used to be the Smithy for the village, you will find the odd cog, tools, sharpening stone, and roof ladder (now your coat hook) used as part of the decor, these have been found on the property & we wanted to keep them as part of it's heritage. We have chosen to keep the solid oak garage doors in place as your private entrance to keep the feel of it history, the interior we hope you will find warm, cosy and inviting with its own kitchen, TV, & sleeping areas, plus your own private shower room to ensure that your stay is a comfortable and pleasant one. We want your stay to be perfect so we will be there if you need any help or advice.
We have been lucky enough to live in the village for since 2104 and we love the area more as each day that passes. We are surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains on one side and the open fields which leads to the river on the other, which is accessible via our back gate leading straight out to public walks across the fields. The location provides a stunning view from our enclose garden, a great place to sit with a glass of wine to watch the buzzards, red kites, herons flying over head. Dave grows many fresh fruits and veg in the garden which he then turns into his own seasonal preserves, and some seasonal homegrown veg can also be purchased from his greenhouse. Sara loves to bake and is often found baking a fresh loaf of bread or a cheeky little victoria sponge, if you would like some during your stay she will gladly make you some for a minimum cost. We live in our happy family home with our daughter and our Border Collie Ruby who will be found running round the garden at times, (This is why we ask to keep all gates shut at all times). Sara runs her holistic health business from the main house, so why not treat yourself to a relaxing massage.
Trefriw is a fantastic central localtion for activities such as Surfing (SURF SNOWDONIA), Tree top walking, zip lining, mountain go carting (ZIP WORLD), mountain climbing, mountain biking, leisurely walks round 2 beautiful lakes and forests. It is a wonderful area to get your creative juices flowing, if you dabble in art or photography then look no further than our beautiful little village.
