Information about the host

The Orca is a charming little place set within a secluded position on our property. There are not many places so close to the beach that can offer privacy and views across the fields. The building itself is a wooden structure built to a high standard and fully insulated against the elements. There is a sitting room with a television and fold down sofa bed (for extra beds) and two beanbags for extra seating. Up the wooden ladder is a double bed (linen provided) and a usb socket for charging phones etc. The Kitchenette although small provides all the basics required for preparation and cooking a meal. saucepans, plates, mugs, glasses and cutlery are all provided. There is also a electric kettle and toaster available to use. The Toilet and shower are in a separate block adjacent to the Orca and accessible via a paved path). We provide towels for you to use in the electric shower and toilet roll is also provided as well as hand soap (please bring your own shower gel)

Tasha and Duncan have lived on the property for 12 years. Tasha has a Doctorate in science and works as a teacher and Duncan is a self-employed carpenter. Tasha has two children who love the beach and the large garden here.

The Orca is only a two minute walk to the beach and only 15minute walk along the new sea wall to the sand dunes of Camber. Unlike Camber in the summer it is generally quiet here and the beach opposite is not crowded. Camber Sands itself is the only sandy beach in Sussex and the dunes are quite unique to the South-East. Many film and television companies come to Camber and Rye as an ideal location for historical and desert scenes (The Monument Men, Dunkirk, Hornblower). There are shops in Camber village (one mile) for any supplies and also a fish and chip shop and a Indian takeaway. Further afield is the ancient Cinque Port town of Rye (3.5miles) with seemingly endless pubs, restaurants and various takeaways. Rye has famous landmarks including Ypres Tower, Mermaid Street and the old Landgate.
