The Red Bus is one of the most unique places you could spend a weekend. Set in a beautifully secluded spot adjoining a paddock, with the friendly goats as neighbours! Much skill and imagination has been employed to renovate this 1982 Metro bus to create an attractive and practical living space on both floors. It really is a characterful and cosy space with charming decor and furnishings, all designed with comfort in mind. However, what makes this place truly special is its setting - there is wildlife in abundance with lots of wonderful walks right on your doorstep. Simply walk through the owners land and you are in Hangman's wood, where you can walk for miles undisturbed. The views over the wooded hills of the Forest of Dean are not to be beaten. The thriving village of Newnham-on-Severn nestles on the banks of the River Severn. The village is steeped in history, and offers specialist shops to suit all interests, along with traditional pubs and cafes. This charming village, part of which is designated Conservation Area, has a tree-lined main street, many listed buildings, a striking central clock tower and is ideally located for watching the spectacular Severn Bore. The Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest, offers numerous trails that can be explored on foot, bicycle or horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high-wire rope course are on offer for the more adventurous, while fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are also available. Gloucester is just a short drive away, where you will find Roman foundations, Victorian docklands and a spectacular Norman cathedral (whose cloisters were used in the Harry Potter films).
