The Retreat has been converted from one of the outbuildings on the farm. Richard and Kaye live on site in the farmhouse and are always available to answer any questions or provide local information when necessary. Both Richard and Kaye are keen gardening enthusiasts and always have new projects "on the go" to enhance the property and attract even more wildlife into the gardens. The lake, wildlife ponds, wooded copse areas, barn owl boxes, hedgehog houses, bat boxes, are just some examples of the projects completed. New for 2021 will be a bird watching Hide located by the lake, and looking out over open country side as many of our regular guests are keen wildlife photographers. Kaye has recently launched a range of home made products "Clematis Cottage Country Kitchen Creations" and these are now available alongside their own honey, eggs and vegetable boxes. They make lovely gifts! As a result of many requests to do so, Richard (resident beekeeper,) now offers practical introductory courses in beekeeping. Please ask for more details before or during your stay so that you can enjoy some or all of them whilst you are here.
