My role here at Rivendell has always been front of house, having direct contact with our guests, which is the part of the job that gives the most enjoyment for me. What sets us apart from the others is my attention to the detail, two completely new rooms designed, decorated and furnished by me to the highest standard yet retaining the beautiful charm of Victorian Villa. The studios evolved through the demand to cater for the ever-increasing room only requirement, giving guests the freedom and flexibility they need especially those with children. We stand out because we take the job seriously and offer facilities way above the average B&B yet still reasonable priced.
I come from a design background having studied at the London College of Fashion where I received my diploma as a creative makeup artist and hair dresser. I have many interests from cake decorating and design, to interior design. Our 13 year old son tend to take up the majority of my time catering to his ever increasing need of Airsoft, Swimming, and other after school activities. I feel my gift is being able to make people happy, as a very happy person myself I try to pass this on especially to our guests, many who have become good friends. I also look after the day to day running of the business as well as my husband’s business. I don't think there is a more beautiful place to work from, my office is amazing no matter what time of the year.
Swanage is a very traditional sea side village with approx. 9,000 people, this swells to some 25/30,000 in peak season especially when the Red Arrows are with us during Carnival Week!! The atmosphere is brilliant with a complete cross section of visitors. The Blue Flag beach is probably our main attraction during the peak season, but the views and walking are breath taking along the coastal path. As an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage site we are the Gate Way to the Jurassic Coast. Any time of year there is always something going on, Music plays a big part with many festivals to suite all needs.
