The Shippon is one of two beautiful barn conversions positioned on a private farmstead and surrounded by glorious countryside. A short distance from the coast and the market town of Axminster it makes for an ideal base to explore the region. The barn is approached from the front deck into a large open plan light and airy living space with vaulted ceilings and a wood burning stove. Squashy sofas in the centre with a country kitchen and raised dining area at either end. Down 3 steps from the kitchen end to the master bedroom with TV, stable door and en-suite shower room. Up three steps from the dining area to two further bedrooms, a twin and a super-king zip link bed that can split to twin beds. A family bathroom with bath and shower over. To the front a large decked patio with seating. Parking for 2 cars. A dog is welcome but must be kept under control at all times due to livestock. Note: Dogs must remain under control at all times due to livestock and all mess must be cleared up.Note: after 2nd July 2021 The Shippon will become a dog-free property. Guests who have an allergy to dog hair need to be aware that dogs were accepted at this property prior to this date.
Nestled in countryside, Axminster is certainly a place to relax and unwind, it is one of Devon’s smaller towns. Situated on the River Axe and within easy reach of both the West Dorset and East Devon Jurassic Coast, Axminster has many attractions, including plenty of privately owned shops, a weekly market and old inns, with one dating back 100 years and the famous River Cottage Canteen and HQ. The area is ideal for walking or cycling and with the Jurassic Coast just 3 miles away, Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Seaton are all within easy reach and offer an opportunity to walk the Coastal Footpath.
