Alternatively on the top of Stowes Hill, overlooking Minions, you can see the Cheesering, a natural formation of balancing stones formed during the last ice age and by thousands of years of erosion, the name derives from the shape of the stones and will become patently obvious on viewing! The ancient stannary town of Liskeard is at the head of the Looe Valley and is approximately 12 miles east of Bodmin. Liskeard is one of the few remaining towns in Cornwall to still have a livestock market. It serves a number of small surrounding villages and is the gateway to Bodmin Moor.
