My bed and breakfast 'The Sixth Happiness' derives its inspiration from the true story of Glady's Aylward, an English lady who became an Innkeeper in China. Her life was depicted in the Hollywood movie 'The Inn of the Sixth Happiness' with Ingrid Bergman. My aim and joy is to offer hospitality that delights and aiding my guests to finding out for themselves what the Sixth Happiness means for them.

I am an explorer by nature. I love true adventure stories and historical dramas. I would love to explore more of China and cycle southern Europe. I like reading stories out loud to people who like to listen. I lived in Germany and the Netherlands but my home is England. I love pets, people and hospitality.

Ashbourne is one of the most delightful towns in England; it is called ' the gateway to the Peaks'. Three major beauty spots are within ten minutes drive, Ilam, Dovedale and Tissington. The town itself has its own 1/4 mile of antique shops as well as a lots of cafés, giftshops and super markets.
