The Spey was opened in 2018 offering a high quality Bed & Breakfast in Grantown On Spey situated in the majestic Cairngorms National Park. For 2021 we have added the Spey Apartment a self catering facility for guests looking for more privacy. The property has many original features and has been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard with sumptuous beds and luxurious accessories. Along with excellent customer service it has a lovely “Modern Scottish’ theme. With all rooms named after Clans that have a personal link to your hosts, Neil and Anne MacDonald Our large guest lounge is ideal for mingling with a drink around the fire, or a quiet area to read, chat, there are Jigsaw puzzles, board games or you could have a serious game of chess. Grantown On Spey is a convenient location for many of the wonderful things to do and see in this area. Experiences range from Golf, Distilleries, The Whisky Trail, Castles, Fishing in Rivers or Lochs and Outdoor Pursuits. We are about 3 minutes away from the town’s Museum and Tourist Information Office, which is just off the Main Street, where you can find some restaurants and shops. One parking space is available for each room, no need to reserve. The local Golf Club, Bowling Green and Tennis Courts are just beside us.

For many years we had always wanted to have a small Bed & Breakfast/Guest House, to welcome guests to the Highlands. In 2016 we started our quest to find the right one, after a year of searching and looking at lot of different properties this former hotel, which had become a home in 2001 was the right one for us. After acquiring the keys in late August 2017 the task of getting the property ready for Bed & Breakfast has been a long process, but we didn’t want to open until we were ready thus ensuring that guests got the full experience of what we wanted to achieve. April 2018 and the task is complete, there will always be something we want to change or alter but we hope this first season we will learn from guests from their experience and did we meet their expectations to grow and develop from their feedback. It is an exciting new adventure for us and we are looking forward to, what we will learn from many different people from around the world. We are proud that our journey has continued to grow with winning 'Scotlands Hidden Gem' Award in 2019 then in 2020 'Contemporary B&B of the Year' for the Scottish Highlands along with 'Customer Service Excellence Award

Grantown On Spey is in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are less than a 5-minute walk from the ‘Grantown Museum” and Tourist Information Office, which are just off the Main Street. Within 5 -10 minutes you can be on the main street with restaurants and local shops. We are also 5 minute’s walk away from the local golf course and the local tennis court and bowling club are just across the road. The area is a beautiful peaceful location
