Malmesbury is close by and steeped in history with its 12th century Benedictine Abbey and historic buildings dating as far back as the 7th century. The historic town of Cirencester is not far away with its Cathedral and Corinium Museum, as well as individual shops and coffee houses. Lovely walks are to be had around Cirencester Park. Nearby Cirencester Park Polo Club is the oldest polo club in the UK and offers a host of tournament fixtures to watch. On the outskirts of Tetbury is Chavenage House, a wonderful example of an Elizabethan manor house. Also close by is the National Arboretum at Westonbirt, set in 600 acres of rolling Cotswold countryside including 17 miles of footpaths to explore.
