Steeped in history, Taynuilt is the perfect location to stay and explore no matter what your interests. Inverawe Smokehouse is located a few minutes' drive away, Ben Cruachan for the walkers and Loch Awe for fishing. If you want to go for a drive, Inveraray, the "Capital" of Argyll is only 40 minutes away and has a beautiful Castle and Old Jail which are open to visitors. Heading the opposite direction, the Sea Life Sanctuary, only 20 minutes from the hotel, has a vast array of underwater creatures and is great fun for all ages. Within the village there is also a golf club open to visitors and the old Bonawe iron furnace, and just a 5 minute walk from the hotel stands Nelson's Monument - a granite standing stone which stands on a prominent hill close to the village main street
