The Tea House is a very old building, constructed around 1500 (+- 25). It is in a historic area of the citadel of Rye. All of the rooms are heavily beamed, the stairs are narrow and steep and some doorways are very low. It is full of character and quirkiness (but please note therefore that It isn't suitable for people who have any breathing, mobility or visual difficulties).
My aim is to offer you a friendly welcome break in a lovely old historic house. I will always do my best to ensure that you have a relaxed and comfortable stay here at The Tea House. I hope that you will feel at home and welcomed and use the Tea House as a base from which to explore the lovely old town of Rye and the glorious English countryside and sandy beaches nearby.
The Tea House is right in the centre of town and all shops, cafes and restaurants are on the doorstep and within a few minutes walk. There are many lovely places to eat and also art galleries, a music shop, many antique shops and other independent ‘not in the high street’ shops. There is a wonderful digital cinema. Rye is very accessible for the coast and beaches such as Camber Sands and also offers beautiful country walks, nature reserves and many other places of natural and historical interest.
