Set over 4 floors with an attractive courtyard garden, the Townhouse is furnished throughout providing comfortable and stylish accommodation with over 1500 square feet of space in a central, yet peaceful location in the Minster Quarter - ideal for exploring York's historical centre, and minutes away from York's bustling shops and eateries. The house sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. There is an additional small lounge sofa bed for occasional use which ideally sleeps 1 but can sleep 2. We provide all bedding including for the sofa bed, towels, and all bedrooms come with hairdryers, televisions and DVD players. There are also TV and Hi-Fi facilities in the lounge and dining room and free WIFI throughout.

I love things that are different and unique. On my first visit to York many years ago, I was struck by the vibrancy of the city, yet its amazing and rich living history. The combination of my passion for anything Roman and fascination with medieval history led me to visit the city many many times, discovering something new on every visit, some brilliant events and festivals and making some wonderful friends along the way. When the opportunity arrived to create a home from home in such a quaint and central part of York, I had to do it, and I fell in love with the Townhouse as much as I did the charm of the York. I hope you enjoy the city as much as I do.

The quiet street of Ogleforth joins Chapter House street some 10 metres from the front of the Townhouse which represents the old via decumana of the Roman fortress which can be visited underneath the Minster, and was the main N.E entrance into York until the building of Monk Bar (gatehouse) in c 1330. Now this tiny cobbled street simply joins the quiet street of Ogleforth to the Chapter House of York Minster, as well as providing entrance to the beautiful Treasurer's House (National Trust property) and Grays Court, where you can enjoy the tea and cakes in its historic rooms or garden overlooking the city walls. Within a minute or two's walk, you can either enjoy the beautiful Deans' Parks of the Minster or the bustling art and clothing shops of Low Petergate, as well as an abundance of restaurants and cafes.
