Born in an hotel. Brought up in an hotel. Hotel college trained (2 years full time then 2 years part time) then ran and later owned hotels. Elected onto Bournemouth Council and became Chairman of Bournemouth Council Tourism Department for 10 years and for the last of those years was also Chairman of the British Resorts Association (57 towns throughout Great Britain). Having probably done enough damage to set tourism in Britain back by at least a decade, eventually regained my sanity and escaped from anything to do with committees and indeed Bournemouth! Moved to the Isle of Wight 13 years ago and promised myself never to get involved in running anything on the Island except for The Wight!
From the Wight Zoo (featuring the white tigers that were on TV) through the Dinosaur Museum (well this is Dinosaur Island which is why we offer our Jurassic Breakfasts!) to our traditional Sandown Pier - there's plenty to do just in the town. But then there is the addition of the whole island which gives a wealth of beautiful land and sea views, great heritage and enough to do that, as many client's find, to see it all needs many repeat visits.
