This lovely secluded Summer House, surrounded by trees and bushes, has a woodland feel and offers the perfect base as a peaceful couples’ retreat. Located near Outgate, which is just next to Hawkshead and a few miles from Ambleside, the location is adjacent to the owner’s B&B and offers an excellent base from which to explore the Lakeland Fells and the nearby towns of Windermere and Coniston. Sleeping two adults, this one-bedroom timber cabin offers a sumptuous bedroom with a double bed and a large, flatscreen Smart TV. The open plan living area and kitchen, complete with easy seating, a coffee table and a breakfast bar, is an ideal place to relax and unwind in after a day’s adventure. A shower room completes the accommodation. Although all on one level, this property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues due to the steps leading to the entrance. The Summer House has a small, covered terrace at the front which is perfect for al fresco dining or a morning coffee, watching the birds and squirrels in the nearby trees.The Summer House occupies an elevated position and is set in 12 acres of wooded fellside with breathtaking mountain views

Nestled between Ambleside( 8minutes drive from the property) ,Hawkshead(6 minutes drive from the property) and Coniston(8 minutes drive from the property) and only 18 minutes away by car from Windermere. High Grassings country house stands in an elevated position set in 12 acres of wooded fell side with breath taking mountain views. Our extensive grounds are inhabited by a variety of wild life including red deer, roe deer, red squirrel and a multitude of songbirds.We also have have ponds and streams, which makes this one of the most tranquil settings in the Lake District. We are within walking distance to Hawkshead Village where there are a selection of shops and eateries. Also within easy walking distance (15 mins) is the popular local Inn, The Drunken Duck which has a fantastic restaurant and even has its own micro brewery. Tarn Hows (once owned by Beatrix Potter) is on our doorstep you can walk around the lake and take in the amazing views of the surrounding mountains Old Man of Coniston, Langdale Pikes and Fairfield to name a few is also on the doorstep and within walking distance. There are plenty of other walks you can do from the house so you don't have to use the car.
