Trethake Mill nestles in a verdant river valley, a leafy stroll from the south west coast path. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxed home-from-home this is the place for you. Trethake is a carefully preserved historic mill and a very comfortable family home, full of character and charm. The house easily accommodates 6 guests, with cosy bedrooms and spacious open plan living rooms, separate study, super fast broadband connection, and extensive gardens and grounds.
Your hosts are Daniel and Olivia, we look forward to sharing this unique peaceful retreat on the southwest coast of Cornwall with you. We create... you enjoy. We live in the adjacent barn and we look forward to welcoming you when you arrive at the Mill. After that, we happily leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday.
The parish of Lanteglos-by-Fowey extends inland from the coast between the picturesque fishing villages of Polruan and Bodinnick in a deep wooded rural valley. From Trethake's garden gate, there are extensive footpaths, bridle ways and green lanes to explore, and the stunning South West Coast Path is just 1 mile away. Several beaches and swimming coves are within pleasant walking distance - you can take a stroll from the house through the leafy Cornish lanes to meet the coast path, or you can leave your car at the nearby National Trust carparks if you're keen to get within sight of the sea straight away. Known as the Cornish Riviera, this stretch of coastline is one of Cornwall's best kept secrets and offers some of the best walking, swimming and sailing in Britain. Mostly owned by the National Trust, it is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The beaches are completely unspoilt with secluded sandy bays and hidden rocky coves. Wildflowers, butterflies and birds thrive and dolphins, seals and porpoises can be spotted in the clear summer water.
