The historic slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog rests in a prominent position between Coed y Brenin Forest Park and the Snowdonia National Park. Travellers can visit the local slate mines and gain and insight into mining history of the area, and the famous Ffestiniog mountain railway which runs through the Snowdonia National Park to the delightful harbour town of Porthmadog.
