The historic slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog rests in a prominent position between Coed y Brenin Forest Park and the Snowdonia National Park. The town hosts a good selection of shops, pubs and eateries. A popular attraction within the town is the Zip World Slate caverns, home to the longest zip line in the Europe and the fasted in the world! Travellers can visit the local slate mines and gain and insight into mining history of the area, and the famous Ffestiniog mountain railway which runs through the Snowdonia National Park to the delightful harbour town of Porthmadog.
