Green Bank Farmhouse

Greenbank Farmhouse is located just 20 minutes’ drive from the centre of Lancaster. A beautifully converted former cheese dairy, it boasts extensive gardens and free on-site parking.

Each of the 2 cosy, individually designed bedrooms features an en suite bathroom, a flat-screen TV, DVD player and tea and coffee-making facilities. Also included within the rooms is free WiFi access.

Breakfast is available in the dining room and options include home made bread, porridge, fruit, yogurt, cereal and a cooked full English breakfast. Breakfast ingredients are sourced locally. Gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options are available.

The impressive medieval Lancaster Castle is just 20 minutes’ drive from Greenbank Farmhouse. Alternatively, guests can scale the Trough of Bowland by either walking or cycling with a 30-minute car journey.

The nearest airports are Manchester International Airport, 1 hour's drive from the property, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which is 1 hour and 11 minutes drive away.

Information about the host

Set in peaceful location yet not too far from civilization, GreenBank Farmhouse was a cheese dairy in a former life but was converted to our lovely home in the 1980's. We moved here in 1997 and have added to and made changes to put our own stamp on it.

Simon buys, tries and flys RC helicopters, Sally sews and would be happy for anyone to use her quilt frame and they both mollycoddle the pet sheep.

We are so lucky to live in this small hamlet so close to the M6 and Lancaster and yet far enough away from traffic noise and street lights. There are no shops or eateries within walking distance of our home, however the Fleece pub is just over a mile away which we are happy to run guests to and from.
