The property Ty Coets is a beautiful grade 2 listed holiday cottage set within a courtyard group of renovated farm buildings. It is situated in a peaceful, rural area of Anglesey on the outskirts of the village of Llanfair PG which boasts the longest name in the world - Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch! Carefully converted, this lovely cottage retains some wonderful original features, including exposed stonework, large arched windows in the lounge and exposed beams. Well equipped, it features all the modern comforts of the 21st Century. . Set in a tranquil location and surrounded by ancient woods, there are protected species including oak, newts, bats, red squirrels in the grounds and there's direct access to the Anglesey Coastal Footpath. The farm buildings were once part of Llwynonn Farm on the Plas Newydd Estate. It's an easy walk to this historic house and garden, now owned by the National Trust. Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline.
