Villa Marina

Set in a detached Victorian villa within beautiful gardens, Villa Marina is an adults-only bed and breakfast. Free private parking is provided at Villa Marina, which is just 15 minutes’ walk from Torquay’s lovely beachfront. Local, organic and fair trade produce is used in the award-winning breakfasts.

Guests can enjoy garden views whilst eating breakfast in the spacious dining room. There is a buffet selection of juice, fruit and cereal available, as well as a choice of cooked breakfasts.

With large windows, each light room has a comfy bed, contemporary furnishings and free Wi-Fi access. Rooms also have fresh flowers, a TV, an en suite bathroom, a selection of fair trade and organic coffee and tea, and luxury biscuits.

Torre Rail Station is 450 yards away and Torre’s historic abbey, now an art gallery, is within 15 minutes’ walk of this bed and breakfast. The restaurants, bars and shops around Torquay’s harbour are just a 5-minute drive away.

Information about the host

Villa Marina was originally built in 1872. It was first lived in by a Colonel Harwood in 1873. The Villa has had some notable residents and several changes of name from Durrell Villa, to Villa Victoria (1890) and eventually Villa Marina in 1964.

We purchased Villa Marina in August 2015. We moved down to Torquay from the midlands and look forward to greeting our guests to a luxurious stay at Villa Marina.

Torquay is only a few minutes drive away and is a cosmopolitan centre with a glorious harbour area and bustling centre. Nearby are the towns of Paignton and Brixham, with Dartmouth and Totnes short drives from Villa Marina.
