As residents of Edinburgh we chose this apartment primarily as a place that we would like to stay ourselves. Built in 2010 it has all the facilities and equipment a guest would have at home from gas central heating, cable TV and Wi-Fi to a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine. Situated in a quiet cal-du-sac just 10-15 minutes' walk from the city centre. It is enough to allow easy access to the city's shops, tourist sites, bars and restaurants on foot or public transport but away from the late night noise of the city centre bars and clubs. The cal-du-sac has no through traffic and is not cobbled so provides a quiet haven for guests to relax at night.
We are a family run business with 2 self catering apartments in Edinburgh and a Visit Scotland awarded Five Star Gold Bed and Breakfast. Although our apartments are not graded by the tourist board we apply the same standards of service and care to them so our guests have the best experience possible. We enjoy spending time in the apartment as it is well situated to provide easy access to the city centre and the surrounding area also has many shops, restaurants and places of interest to visit.
The local area is a vibrant place with lots to see and do. Just along the street is the New Town Deli great for breakfast. A few doors along is the Alba Dora chip shop, probably the best in the city then round the corner on Dundas Street is the Cuckoo Bakery who do the most amazing cupcakes as well as lunches. The closets mini market is Margiotta on Dundas Street. 5 minutes' walk is Stockbridge with many shops, cafes and restaurants. Also providing access to the Water of Leith Walk, a tranquil riverside walk running down stream to Leith or upstream for 8 miles out to the west of the city to Balerno. Stockbridge also provides access to the Royal Botanic Gardens hosting many events throughout the year and Inverleith park. Through the far side of Stockbridge is Fettes Collage which some say provided J.K Rowling with the inspiration for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter stories.
