This beautiful period thatched property sits in its own plot surrounded by its own garden and outbuildings and has direct access onto the open forest. Your room is mainly open plan with all facilities and 2 extra single beds on a mezzanine accessed by a steep ladder staircase so not suitable for younger children. We are able to provide a cot and high chair. The room has access to a private garden area with BBQ and a lovely sunny area to enjoy sitting outside. We are able on request to provide continental breakfast in your room or you can enjoy a full english breakfast in the dining room of the thatched cottage. We can also provide packed lunches or hot cooked meals in the evening.
We only recently moved back to this area and are so happy to have done so. This is an area that once known is hard to match anywhere else. We enjoy sailing and riding locally and when home love cooking, gardening, music, reading, art and entertaining. We have a cat and a dog and keep a few of our own chickens.
This is the perfect place if you want to explore the local area. We are just 2 miles from Beaulieu with its 3AA Rosette restaurant at the Montague Arms hotel and excellent Monty's Inn, the renown Montague Motor Museum which also hosts a whole host of events, and within close walking distance of both our local pub and village shop. Within 3 miles there are coastal walks and Dire Straits' John Ilsleys very popular pub the East End Arms. A must visit is Bucklers Hard village with its links to Nelson, the renown sailing town of Lymington with its old port and marina, its wonderful Saturday market and its excellent and eclectic mix of shops. The New Forest is obviously known not only for its sailing, riding, bicycling and walking but is a wonderful area for the keen photographer as we have the most wonderful sunsets just outside our door and over Hatchett Pond and it is possible to view wild ponies, cows, pigs, donkeys and herds of deer, red, roe, fallow, sika and muntjac as well as a large and varied number of both inland and coastal birds. We are easily accessible by train to Brockenhurst which is 6 miles away and travel from London takes 1.30 hours.
