Whiteways is a flint and stone farmhouse, situated in the centre of Dorset. The double/family room is decorated to a high standard and enjoys 35 mile panoramic views over Thomas Hardy's Blackmore Vale. The room has a kingsize bed and a single bed, plus a pull out bed if required. There is an ensuite bathroom and dressing room with cot and tea/coffee facilities and small fridge. The room also includes a TV and free Wi-fi. The breakfast room has an inglenook fireplace and beamed ceiling and views over the garden. Visitors may also use the siting room and garden. Whiteways is a perfect place for a relaxing few days away. We are situated half way between Dorchester and Sherborne but only half an hour from the coast and beach. The Wessex Ridgeway and Hardy Trail cross the farm and are great for walkers. There is use of a fishing lake, free of charge.
Nicola personally greets guests to her home and offers a cup of tea in the sitting room on arrival. A cooked breakfast is offered, special diets can be catered for (please ask before arrival). Andy's is a fourth generation farmer at Bookham and they are both happy to answer questions about the local area. Please inform Nicola of your approximate time of arrival, as she may be out in the garden or cleaning her holiday cottages at Bookham Court. We look forward to meeting you
Whiteways boasts stunning scenery over Thomas Hardy's Blackmore Vale and glorious walks along the Hardy Trail and Wessex Ridgeway. We are half an hour from the Jurassic coast, Chesil beach and beaches of Weymouth. Also Abbotsbury, Ringstead, Lulworth, Studland, Swanage, West Bay and Lyme Regis. Abbotsbury has the Swannery, Tythe Barn, Subtropical gardens and Childrens Barn and is a beautiful old village. The tudor village of Cerne Abbas is 10 minutes away and is home to the Cerne Abbas giant and several pubs. The Gaggle of Geese public house at Buckland Newton is only a mile from Whiteways and boasts good pub food. There is also the Brace of Pheasants at Plush, the Thimble at Piddlehinton and many more pubs within a few miles of us. We have several houses to visit nearby, including Stourhead, Kingston Lacey and Athelhampton House. Sculpture by the lake at Pallington is worth a visit or the Tank Museum and Monkey world, to name a few attractions. There's so much to see and do in Dorset
