This stone-built detached barn conversion in the beautiful, secluded hamlet of Pennington is located just three miles from the ancient market town of Ulverston. Lovingly restored, this fully renovated cottage offers high quality living space, with a spacious lounge with dining table and patio doors leading to beautiful gardens. There is also a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms – able to sleep four people - and two luxurious bathrooms.
Situated on the beautiful Lake District Peninsula, the scattered hamlet of Pennington is set in an area of gentle hills and unspoiled countryside. The start of the Haematite and Cumbrian Way footpaths are close by, as are the twin pubs at Great Urswick Tarn – locally renowned for their fine ales and good food. Nearby Ulverston is an ancient market town, which still holds a streetmarket every Thursday and Saturday. Today, this settlement is best known as a "festival town", with events throughout the year, and as the birthplace of Stan Laurel. As a result, it is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world. Facilities there include a wide range of shops, pubs, and restaurants whilst all of the attractions of the National Park are within easy reach. Also close by is the Furness Coast, boasting sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Other attractions include the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and Muncaster Castle.
