You'll be staying in a piece of history! Woodside's in a woodland valley, beautiful views, walks from the door, bird song and peace, in the heart of the National Park .You can enjoy scenic walks by High Dam and Lake Windermere We have parking for 2 cars with extra parking available We are child friendly :high chair, stair gate, travel cot(but sorry regulations forbid us from supplying cot bedding) fire guard , children's toys and books. We are Alison and Brian Smith and would love to welcome you to Woodside our 250 year old cottage. Woodside is just outside of Lakeside, Newby Bridge, in a very peaceful location. We love the Lake District and in particular the location of Woodside. Woodside is a few minutes walk from the hidden lake of High Dam, a must if you are in the area. The peace and serenity that can be found as you walk around this lake, will stay with you for the rest of your days....it is a very special place. We take a great pride in Woodside and as such ask for a hundred pound damage bond which is payable directly to us approx 7 days before you go by bank transfer, We will be in touch. Numbers will be given once a DAMAGE BOND of one hundren pounds is paid by BANK TRANSFER to the owners Brian and Alison Smith approx 7 nights before holiday commences We are very dog friendly and welcome upto 2/3 dogs but do charge ten pounds extra for each dog. Woodside's location is fabulous There's a fantastic dog friendly pub to walk to • We are in the Central lakes which makes it ideal for seeing all that the Lake District has to offer. • We are on the quiet side of the lake, making travel by car so much easier. No queing through Windermere, Bowness or Ambleside! Instead go there by boat! • We are 10 mins walk away from the Windermere lake cruisers which will take you all around the lake to Windermere, Bowness or Ambleside • Taxis are readily available in the area by phone, if you don't want to use the car. • At the very heart of Swallows & Amazons country. - the author is buried in Rusland Church Yard • This is an idylic, peaceful area which will afford you the opportunity to recharge your batteries by spending precious time with loved one. Many Activities and places to visit are within 1 mile: • LOW STOTT BOBBIN MILL is owned by English Heritage and is just across the road. this is a working bobbin museum, full of history. • YMCA lakeside is 1 mile away.
