At Punch Tree Lodge enjoy a beautiful homely 1-bedroom stay in the grounds of the former Mauldslie Castle. We are based in the beautiful Clyde Valley in the countyside of South Lanarkshire. Our grounds are very historical. Sir Winston Churchill frequently visited Mauldslie Castle (which once stood on the land but demolished in 1933) and King George V and Queen Mary paid a Royal Visit in July 1914. But, just days after the King and Queen departed, Britain was plunged into the First World War. A Peaceful setting, ideally situated for major cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Local amenities you can visit include: Garden Centres - Silverbirch, Gouldings, Dobbies, The Popinjay Hotel/Restaurant & Spa, New Lanark Mill hotel and local art and craft shops in the nearby towns. Carluke Golf Club, Mountain Biking in Mauldslie Woods, Fishing on the River Clyde and other activities you will enjoy.
